**News Flash** we have an urgent need for Beaver Leaders and Helpers across the District so we don't have to close our doors to new members.  Please let us know if you could spare just a couple of hours a week to help.  Thank you

Leadership

There are lots of opportunities to get involved with Groups and Sections across the District.  We have a fantastic team but we are growing so fast we need more adults to get involved so we don't have to start turning kids away.  Ware very much in need of new leaders, assistant leaders and occasional helpers.  We operate a flexible volunteering commitment, which means we can accommodate however much time you are able to give and there is no such thing as too little!

Full training for each level is provided, appropriate to the amount of involvement you have and much of that training is accredited.  There are lots of benefits to you, the young people you will support and the transferable skills you will gain for your CV.  Plus you get to get involved in lots of exciting activities and have lots of fun!

To contact us about any form of volunteering, please email volunteering@moorlandsscouts.org see below for current roles list

Committee Involvement

It's not just the sections that need your help but also the committees that help to keep them running.  If you are happy to attend meetings or have a particular skills such as accountancy, secretarial support, fundraising, media or development support then you can really make a difference behind the scenes.  We also need help from advisors on key youth issues if you work in the field professionally and help from people to build community links.

Consall Campsite

We are very privileged to have our own District Campsite.  It is in a beautiful spot just off the A52 near Consall.  However it needs work to keep it going.  We have a great warden but he needs help from volunteers with maintainance and administration as there is too much for one person.

Scout Active Support

Scout Active Support allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

It provides a resource for Managers of local Scouting to request help for example on camp or when a leader is off sick or working, or because particular skills are needed or extra eyes such as taking Scouts for a walk.

You may just be willing to give a little ad hoc time and not mind what you get involved in, or you may be passionate about a particular activity, or want to become qualified as an instructor (or already be one).  You may be willing to help fundraise or help with catering on large camps.  We would be grateful for anything you can offer

Scout Active Support is for anyone over the age of 18 years. It is a way for adults to volunteer time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them.

There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.

Don’t just do it for the love of it though, it can also look great on your CV, give you access to new career pathways, widen your social network and introduce you to new activities.  Not to mention it is loads of fun!
